The stock intercooler on the 3.5L EcoBoost sits low in the bumper, out of the airflow and in harm's way, with plastic end tanks and plastic charge piping that get brittle with age. Work the truck hard and charge temps climb until the computer pulls timing to save the engine. Towing up a grade or hitting deep sand on a 100° day, that is real power gone right when you need it.

In 2011, Full-Race was the first to move the EcoBoost intercooler high into the grille, where the air actually is. Fifteen years later, it is still the most thoughtfully engineered intercooler you can bolt to one of these trucks. Every plastic failure point is gone: aluminum charge pipes, a threaded billet evap purge fitting in place of the factory nipple that cracks off with miles (and if that thing breaks, the party's over), CNC-machined sensor mounts sealed with O-rings. And the airflow is engineered, not eyeballed. The end tank is internally divided so charge air spreads evenly across the entire core face, something you will not find on any other intercooler for these trucks, and the Y-pipe is cast aluminum. Casting allows a smoother, better-flowing shape than any hand-fabricated or silicone pipe.

Add it all up and you get the strongest, highest-flowing charge air system available for these trucks, plus full clearance for a steel bumper, winch, or prerunner front end down the road.
